Minilite wheels = Ex-Police. 2600 or 3500. |

Odd mix of features. Fake plate - C38 MNH was a genuine Northamptonshire issue from August 85 on a blue Cavalier 1.6L automatic. Car looks earlier - between 1980 tints and 1982 facelift without much bright stuff, so I suggest 1980+ 2300. |

If you can't see the badge on the back (and wasn't there also one on the front wing?) then you might as well just list this as "Rover [SD1]". |

Front wing badge is there which came in Jan 80 so car is 80-82. Although trim details are dodgy, 2600 and 3500 from 1980 had more brightwork, therefore 2300 seems most likely. |

It is a police car so they may have had a lower spec and less trim than civilian cars... Like those 3 litre Omegas with steel wheels. As I said, this one definitely served with the police (probably Met) on account of the non-standard wheels, fitted to police cars to aid cooling of brakes. Best to label without model. -- Last edit: 2012-02-15 19:03:28 |
