Might just be a Savage with these wheels, but impossible to confirm. |

The wheels are the Dunlop 'D1' and i wonder if this is in fact a Crayford converted car. Although more famous for thier convertables, in 69/70 Crayford Auto Developments produced some V6 3litre conversions on mk2 cortinas mostly for the Spanish market where it seems Crayford had strong buisiness connections. Some had a quad headlamp set up using a modified Vauxhall victor fd grille similar to that used on the Wood and Picket Mini Clubman. The grille on this Cortina looks as though it may be one of those. They also carried out the conversions on Escorts and Capris. |

Very interesting suggestion. Most informative source on Crayford 3 litres I've found online is Link to "www.buysellcortina.co.uk" - "Crayford converted 12 mk2s into Crayford V6s from 1968-1970". Also a photo in a book with a fleet of Crayford Mk2s (with grille mods as ^), Escorts and Capris. Any more info on the Spanish connection? |
