Matford?, Chenard&Walcker?

This is an interesting document because it is a Lincoln Zephyr 1937 distributed by Matford in France. These could be recognised by the additional large headlights mounted lower on the front fenders because the " Service des Mines " did not accept the original sealed beams from the oval lenses. This unit has also a typical european roof rack. |

Could it be named as Matford in such a case? |

It remains a Lincoln Zephyr and the ( F) seems a good idea |

Hi, there wasn't any sealed beam before 1940 model year. Cars were sold as Lincoln. |

Only american Fords were sold as Matford in France in 1937/38. Streamlined headlamps were changed to satisfied " les mines " on those cars. About sealed beam headlamps, most of the american automobiles manufacturers began to use them for the 1940 model year. They had a standardized round shape and from now on, except for some little carmakers like Graham Paige, the automobile industry will not design streamlined headlamps anymore. |
