To : rtsbusman1997 : Everywhere in the world, except US spec, should have side repeater. Only US spec cars do not have side repeater. |

That is why I see most Mitsubishi vehicles have a insert showing a trim level alphabetic sold in our market. |

Most of the countries in the world falls into any one of the 2 different specs. UNECE and FMVSS. Where UNECE, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, is the most popular spec. It is largely based on Euro spec but some minor regional difference. Most countries in the world accept this standard. Even China and Japan spec cars are similar to UNECE (but Japan spec does not require rear fog lamp). The other, FMVSS, stands for Federal Motor Vehicle Standard. This is the US standard. Canada has a very similar standard known as CMVSS, but with daytime running lamps. Comparing FMVSS to UNECE, FMVSS has brighter headlamps, tail lamps; and side marker required. However, UNECE restricts the amount of light emitted from headlamps or tail lamps; and side repeater (turn signal) required. So it is basically impossible to have one exact vehicle to fit both standards. If you want further reading, please check out here : Link to "en.wikipedia.org" |
