A Daimler not a Jaguar. Plate doesn't appear on the DVLA. -- Last edit: 2011-07-24 01:28:39 |

RW = Coventry. Plate could be genuine for car loaned from Jaguar. |

Any views of the badges on the rear? |

Ho ho. DVLA details for vehicle details for C564 VRW are: Date of Liability 01 04 1990 Date of First Registration 19 09 1985 Year of Manufacture 1985 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 5343CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour GREEN. So a Double Six. Dxxx VRW series never issued, with Fxxx VRW the next one. |

D564VRW may be a fake but does that mean this car's registration is C564VRW? ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-07-24 02:16:14 |

Who knows what evidence can be trusted in the face of amazing coincidences? Do the concepts of probability and plausibility still exist in Englandshire these days? I can remember they used to be around when I were a lad in Birmingham and Mott the Hoople were brightening everybody's lives, but it seems as if they have died out, just like Mott. At least with Scottish devolution we can keep this useful traditions alive beyond the reach of the nihilists down south. Meanwhile, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU5VnpZEO7I is the only song I know about Shrewsbury bus station (Link to "1.bp.blogspot.com" ). |

It was quite common in series such as the Professionals or The Sweeney for them to subtly alter the plates to make the cars appear newer. Lasted just five years? Typical Jaguar quality of the era. |

Well, if that's the case they've done a convincing job (in this font a C looks nothing like a D so they would have had to stuck a sticker over it or something) or put on a completely different plate. Also isn't the gap between 564 and VRW too big? Fair enough I suppose, we'll just leave it. This also has a badge behind the front wheelarch which is probably the D badge that according this 1982 brochure (page 8) http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/82inpursuit.html means Vanden Plas. Also has chrome trim (and possibly paint strip underneath although it's hard to tell for sure) Sandie is this your picture? If not, you should replace this because it isn't as big as the others you've added for this series. -- Last edit: 2011-07-24 18:28:09 |

No mention of VDP on HPIcheck - the only other site with the record - a pity because I'd wondered the same. |

They could have just left it out. |
