 Chrome strip deviding the rear lights tells me this is a GLE (and not a GL, GLT or Turbo) spec wise.
Painted lower part of the bumper says this is EITHER a 1988 740 GLE OR a 1982-87 760 GLE, at least in Europe.
If it has chrome around the wheel arches it's more likely this is a 760 GLE. Any possibility to see them?

Edit: In US spec. Volvo 740 GLE had painted lower parts of the bumper 1986-89 with these rear lights. (1986-88 if 14" rims, 1989+ if 15")

The later ones, yes. But the earlier ones had bolack door mirrors. Look here Link to "www.resimmotoru.com" .
I think (but I'm not certain) they had painted door mirrors from 1986.

 It has CHMSL which would make it atleast 1986+
