1973-1978 Chevrolet C-20 Cheyenne Fleetside Equipped with dual fuel tanks, which extended the rounded-line’s cruising range. Introduced for the rounded-line generation, the auxiliary fuel tank option was mainly for long distance towing/hauling. Dual fuel tanks reduced the need to frequently refuel on a "long haul". Rounded-lines came with a choice of two fuel tanks sizes. Single fuel tank (standard range): Single 16 gallon (60 liter) fuel tank Single 20 gallon (75 liter) fuel tank Dual fuel tank (long distance range): Dual twin 16 gallon (60 liter) fuel tanks – collective fuel capacity of 32 gallons (121 liters) Dual twin 20 gallon (75 liter) fuel tanks – collective fuel capacity of 40 gallons (151 liters) Modern advancements in fuel tank design allow single fuel tanks to achieve the same (or in some cases, more) fuel capacity. This renders dual fuel tanks obsolete. |
