Well, it´s a RS200 body. |

I agree. Does anybody know if there have ever been any attempts to import RS 200's on the gray market to the US and/or Canada? |

I don´t think that they were any attempts, cause it´s one of the rarest Ford´s ever made. And if somebody has one, he won´t sell it. |

How about a replica - such as based on MG Maestro - http://www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?banhammaestrof.htm . |

Considering the value of RS200s these days I'm thinking it is a replica shell. Banham made a replica of the RS on (I kid you not) an Austin Maestro chassis so it may be one of those shells mounted on a serious offroading chassis. This one made it over to the USA: http://bringatrailer.com/2011/02/16/rare-in-the-usa-1986-ford-rs200-evo/ |

I think the body of it must be a replica. I don´t think that somebody drives a rally with this car. |

Link to "www.rs200.org" is a good front page for RS200 info. See http://www.rs200.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=250&t=218 for a story about plans to export 20 to Canada which failed. |

I entered in the VIN for the RS that made to America into www.bar.ca.gov and it came up as registered in Calif. No smog test results listed. |

As far as I can tell, most RS200 were LHD, but is it true for all genuine cars? If so this is a RHD fake. |

A 'Monaghan RS' is listed here: http://www.marches4x4.com/ It's probably a replica shell (GRP?) as I've said before. |

Considering the rarity of the RS200 this has got to be a replica bodyshell. From what can be seen from the front suspension, the suspension arm(s) is allot longer then the real deal; which was fairly compact with dual shocks. Upon further investigation this vehicle was custom made by Gordon Monaghan('s team?). allround long travel suspensions, 4WD, Quaif sequential 6 speed gearbox powered by a 3.0ltr high reving BMW inline 6. An awesome vehicle. |
