It is a Land-Rover 109" Series III Station Wagon (1971-83). Richard, does the numberplate tell it is from 1978? -- Last edit: 2006-07-17 10:47:38 |

Great! Is there a web-page like in the UK, or do you get it out of books? It is an Export LHD Station Wagon with the 4 cylinder petrol engine. |

There´s a web site for the cars still in the registry: https://www21.vv.se/fordonsfraga/ You can trace almost all vehicles that have been registered in Sweden if you have the license number, it´s a little more work though if the number is recycled. All documents in todays system with three letters and three numbers (GHA723) from 1972 and on have been either microfilmed or later scanned and saved. Some microfilms have unfortunately selfdestructed though, so some documents are missing. The earlier system with a letter for the area, A1 - A99999 and so on, was in use between 1907 and 1972-73. It was handwritten large documents up til 1942 and after that smaller cards adapted for typewriters. These archives are mostly intact and can be searched manually. |

I'm the current owner of this car and it's still used almost daily during summer. It has recently past an inspection, the car has gone through a thorough mechanical service during 2021, the brakes has been completely renovated and the engine has recieved an overhaul of the cylinder head with new valves and seats and the ignition is modified to electronic pulse. The car is now equipped with a roof rack, a ladder at the back and a spare tire on the bonnet. The sign at the back "TJÄNSTEBIL" is unfortunantely lost and cannot be found. The car is still driven close to the location where the movie was filmed and occasionally runs on the same roads as from the movie, it hasn't moved far in the last 30 years It's a lovely car and it runs perfect, more info of it's current status can be found on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/series3.machine/ |
