In 1939 the name Overland was revived - for one year only - for a low price version of the Willys 48. This car is either an Overland or it is a Willys - it can't be both. From this distance I think it wouild be difficult to tell them apart. -- Last edit: 2011-08-15 01:17:47 |

The hood design appears the more pointed freshly styled one of the 1939 Willys Overland. According to my data ,these cars were not sold or listed in 1939 as just Overlands but as Willys Overland and bore Willys Overland scripts. Concerning the price , the Willys Overland line was not necessarily a lower priced version of the Willys 48 line: prices for the two lines overlapped and ranged from $499 for a Willys 48 business coupe to $689 for a Willys Overland DeLuxe sedan. The Willys Overland had a more potent 62 HP engine and rode on a 102 " wheelbase versus 48 HP and 100" for the Willys 48. |
