A topic for the discussion I wanted to raise long ago: Shame on me, but in spite of the fact that I spent my childhood in M-66 sidecar, I cannot understand some things on the site. I still can differentiate between Dnepr and Ural in most cases, but why are Ural and IMZ listed as separate makes? especially in case of one and the same model, like M-72? Secondly - why IMZ 8.xxxxxx codes are sometimes listed as chassis and in some cases as part of the model names? |

No answer, so i will continue. Another problem: it seems people at the site think that GAZ MM is a poor war-time version of GAZ AA, similar to ZiS 5V of ZiS 5. In fact, GAZ MM was a 1938 50 hp version of GAZ AA with no external differences. If you mean poor war-time version (non-folding side boards, the doors replaced by triangular side fences and roll-up canvas doors, the wings made of roofing iron using a simple bending method, no brakes on the front wheels, only one headlight), it was designated as GAZ MM V, like ZiS 5V was at the time, V standing for "voennyy" (war-time). -- Last edit: 2021-03-19 17:06:28 |
