This movie featured the Kirkeby Mansion, of "Beverly Hillbillies" fame. The 20,000 square foot structure was built in 1938 in Bel Air, California. The owner of the mansion, Arnold Kirkeby, was quite upset after the production crew of "Cinderfella" trashed the grounds of the 6.5 acre estate, and was initially hesitant when approached by the Filmways producers to feature the mansion in the new Beverly Hillbillies series. Arnold Kirkeby was one of 95 passengers killed in a Boeing 707 plane crash (two minutes after takeoff) from New York to LA in March of 1962. Just before the fourth season of the Beverly Hillbillies, Mrs. Kirkeby cancelled the agreement with Filmways because the address had been leaked, resulting in an endless stream of tourists. No views of the Mansion or grounds were permitted on the show after that time. A new owner dismantled the mansion in 1987 after paying over thirteen million dollars for it.

The correct designation of this one is Imperial Crown Custom Parade Phaeton. They were not Presidential cars and were not operated by the US Presidency. In fact Chrysler extensively transformed 3 parade phaetons they had built in 1952 for official parade use using the Crown Imperial chassis ,by updating them with 1955 Imperial front end sheet metal and grille and 1956 Imperial rear fenders and trim.In George H. Damman\'s 70 years of Chrysler they are listed as 1955 cars,so probably produced in late 1955.Puzzling point here is that none was originally pink. There were 2 white cars with red interiors one in New York and one in Detroit and one metallic silver blue car with white leather interior residing in Los Angeles. This one apparently has a white interior , may be the latter car resprayed ? Perhaps our American friends have more information ?

Does that name also apply to the other ones currently listed as "Presidential Parade Car"? /vehicles_make-Imperial_model-Presidential+Parade+Car.html

If I may, please allow me to update this post. Pilou's information is excellent, so consider this an addition...Three cars were originally built by Chrysler, one for the city of New York, another for the city of Los Angeles, and a third that was intended for the White house. However, the White House was prohibited by law from accepting gifts. Consequently, the car remained in Detroit, owned and maintained by Chrysler, but loaned out to various functions across the country, including Presidential parades...The "New York Car" was originally black, with a gray interior, then later changed to white, with a red interior. In the early 1980's, the car was restored and returned to its original black color, but it retained the red interior. Today, it is is still owned by the City of New York and used, occasionally, for official functions...The "Los Angeles Car" was originally creme, with a rose interior. Today, it is arctic white, with a white interior. It is still owned by the City of Los Angeles and, like the New York car, still used on special occasion...The "Detroit Car" is the only one of the three that eventually made its way into private hands, including Paul Stern, and finally Robert Peterson. It exists, today, in the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, painted off-white, with a dark brown interior...Concerning the Cinderfella car: I suspect that the film production company leased the Los Angeles car from the city, with the provision that they be allowed to re-paint the car and change the color of the interior. Following production, the car may have been returned to its white or creme color, but retained the white interior that it still has, today. Nevertheless, this is just a guess, based on the fact that the movie car has a white interior, and the Los Angeles car now has a white interior, as well.

It looks as if the Los Angeles car is the same one used in Li'l Abner. It appears to have the correct original color in that production.
