A beautiful beast, well looked after. Naturally it should have clear-lens park & turn signal lamps. Note in atom's third thumbnail capture the column shifter. This is a Turbo Hydra-Matic Blazer. Permanent four-wheel drive was fitted as standard on Turbo Hydra-Matic rounded-line pickups and utilities. If there were a view of the floor, we would see a shifter that would allow the driver to lock or unlock the centre differential. The shifter also allowed the driver to switch back and forth between high and low range gearing. For most off roading, the centre differential could be left unlocked, also, GM was adamant that under no circumstances should the differential be locked on pavement. The first thumbnail shows the GM Corporate 10-bolt live front drive-axle (which would later see military use) with offset conventional differential. As an optional extra, a rear Eaton Automatic Differential Lock (ADL) could be ordered, but it is somewhat rare to find rounded-lines with the rear ADL. The alphanumeric G80 code will be stamped in the glove box if it has this option. -- Last edit: 2012-07-16 02:48:41 |

Not a [K-5] but [K-10] by the official document. Also, we use model codes for other GM products. Shouldn’t the K-10 go in extra information with [CK10516] as the chassis code? Someone deleted the chassis code without explanation. Please at least post a comment. That way it can be discussed. @Elmer (when you pop in) what do you think here based off the GM document above. |
