Made in ZA, or? Rather origin GB and D, because it's RHD. |

They were assembled in ZA, including at one stage a semi-official conversion with 5-litre 302ci V8 like the local Capri Perana. This is probably an ordinary one, maybe Ghia with that white vinyl. Agree 75+ date as likely, but any specific local knowledge welcome. |

Only one roadworthy in original condition has survived. Recently there was an article in the "Oldtimer Markt" about it. |

According to Classic & Sportscar test in Nov 2009 there are 8 in UK - interesting article comparing with the ZA-only Chevrolet Firenza Can-Am - a Vauxhall [HC] fitted with GM 5-litre V8. As for Granada V8, there was one for sale in UK recently - only £9950 - http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C227584 . -- Last edit: 2011-10-22 00:21:42 |

In the early/mid-70s, Ford Germany in Cologne had to convert at least two Granadas using the 302 cui-engine, too, by special request of Bob Lutz himself because the rest of the fleet wasn't fast enough for him. IIRC one of them has survived and was featured in an issue of German classic car-magazine Oldtimer Markt(or was it Oldtimer Praxis?) in 2005 or 2006. I think Ingo might know more about it. |
