I would say the odds are good this Tucson is a 2011 model. Provided by Hyundai. Note that it’s a tricked out top-of-the-line Limited with all the optional goodies... Hyundai Pairs up with The Walking Dead for Tucson Product Placement Tucsons are front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive optional. The all-wheel drive system features a one-speed single range transfer box with centre limited-slip coupling (LSC). Obviously no limited-slip differentials or locking differentials are available for the drive axles, so in their place, the little Tucson makes good use of 4-wheel electronic traction control to keep torque flowing to all four wheels. |

When I saw the show on TV I thought it was an iX35 (always brand new) but making the captures I noticed it was badged as Tucson. They are pretty similar ![]() |

Actually, the ix35 and Tuscon are almost virtually identical, just badged based on the market. The confusion is very understandable. |

Anybody who watched the season premiere on its first night airing got a nice follow up commercial for Hyundai during the next commercial break. Could make it a little more subtle don't ya think? ![]() |

It's nothing but an ugly jelly bean on wheels. ![]() |

I agree. It looks like it's going to eat you. It's especially strange as the Kia version, the Sportage, is to my eyes a fairly attractive car. That is probably why in the UK the Sportage is way more popular than the ix35. |

In Germany it´s a bit different. The ix35 is more popular than the Kia Sportage. It´s even in the Top-10 of the SUV´s at the moment. My sister and her husband have got an ix35 with a 2-litre petrol engine. It´s pretty good actually, only one thing is really bad... It´s the very firm suspension. |

And the fact that it looks like a carnivorous jelly bean. But yes, a pretty decent car. |

In the third thumbnail from Ep. 2.06, you can see a dealer sticker from Rick Case Kia at Gwinnett Place. |

The good news is that they're raffling this off to some "lucky" viewer (who also gets a "stumnle on" role as a zombie). Presumably it'll be signed by the cast, like with Tony Soprano's Suburban. |

Can I have the suburban instead please |

This car is anachronistic because the apocalypse began in 2010. |
◊ 2020-09-27 03:41 |
limit.. some 2011 were available already in 2010 |
◊ 2022-01-19 21:21 |
I mean... its not the worst choice for a zombie apocalypse... not great but not terrible... |
◊ 2022-08-22 17:11 |
Not necessarily; you could get a 2011 car in 2010. -- Last edit: 2022-08-22 17:11:52 |
