A bunch of Cadillacs? Where it was filmed? It looks somehow DPRK-ish. Otherwise: the Kims loved alwys Mercedes, not Cadillac. |

That's a 75-76 Lincoln Continental Stretched Limousine, with some mild customizing. Stretch appears to be a Moloney Standard Coach Builders. I wonder if it's still there? /vehicle.php?id=447382 http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=447394 ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-11-06 03:54:41 |

Quite possibly. I've seen an open-top ZiS parade car in footage of North Korean parades. |

Yes, that does look like North Korean / DPRK, and no, actually Kim Il Sung had a preference for Lincoln Continentals of the 1970s. There were several in his funeral procession, and several were brought out for the funeral of his son, Kim Jong Il. My guess is that they liked Mercedes as well, and there were some brought in an attempt to copy in the 1980s. Ever seen a North Korean 190 / W201? |

Not, when I had been there in Oct 2012. As it's to read, it obviously was a terrible thing, so extinct quite fast. Professor Rüdiger Frank, the most profound German-speaking Northkorea-expert, who even had studied there in the early 90ies, had seen only one in over 30 years, as he told me once. -- Last edit: 2022-04-28 22:20:51 |

Ah thanks - clearly to see, that no sighting in the last 25 years. Remarkable insofar, as the real 190 -one of the most sturdy and reliable cars in history- is still on the road, also in Germany. |
