IMDB says that it is an AMC Rebel, Carfan says that it is a Rambler Cross Country... As it is written "Rebel" on the front, "Rambler" on the back, and "Custom" on the rear door, I let others give the exact complete name |

To make ( almost) everyone happy I would say : Rambler Rebel Cross Country Custom Station Wagon model 5929 of 1959.I am saying almost because although AMC built, these were sold as Ramblers , not AMC Ramblers. The Rebel used the 215 hp V8 engine and contrary to the six and the super ,could be ordered with an automatic transmission. |

"Custom" should be before "Cross Country", and "Station Wagon" is unnecessary because that's covered by the "Cross Country" moniker. -- Last edit: 2007-09-04 03:27:48 |

Isn't Custom a trim level and Cross Country a body designation? Usually we keep the body name in model name, and trim name as extra info (hence it gets displayed at the end) |

Rambler used the model name/trim level/body type convention. Up to you if you want to match their use or not. |
