Both 1960+ Jaguar Mk2. AFAIK NZ assembly of Jags started in 1971 with XJ6, so these are UK made. |

I presume, a NZ-made car would have a NZ-plate-appropiate plate-frame. |

Note the registration plates - the car on the left possibly has its plate as issued in 1964 when the black plates first came out, which makes it hard to date, as it could be from a few years earlier. The black car has plates issued in about 1973. There could be several reasons for this; it may have lost a plate at some time so new ones were issued or it might have been imported privately in 1973 -- Last edit: 2011-11-24 19:40:19 |

The little badge under the main Jaguar script on bootlid of black car above number plate means 3.4 or 3.8; 2.4 did not show its engine size here. Nice stick-on rear window demister. |

I believe this one also needs to be changed. Plate is real. Unlike the other Jag this one was new to NZ. The registered overseas marker is not checked. Edit: by the chassis number this was built late in 1965 as the first serial number in 1966 was 234910. https://www.jaguarheritage.com/files/mark_i___ii_etc__chassis_numbers.pdf -- Last edit: 2020-12-13 16:10:20 |
