The windshield got all broken from being fired at as well as one of the henchmen breaking it to allow easy access for his Thompson. After Indy shoots the Tommy-gun-wielding henchman, he falls over the driver, making him lose control, crashing it into a few market stalls. It was able to pick up the pace and relocate Indy and company at the airport, so I suppose it survived the shooting (literally).
