Early 1973+ basic trim. Depends who offered this sort of spec at the time - were early Allegros sold in I before Innocenti assembly started? |

Innocenti Regents were only 4 door. 1977 was the introduction year for the Austin Allegro and this shoulb a 1977 Allegro 1100 De Luxe 2 door, the lone 2 door imported. |

77 would be Allegro 2. Is it definite that there were no Allegros sold in I before Innocenti assembly started? |

Allegros weren't sold in Italy till late 1976, as the Allegro 2 came in about 4 version (1100 de luxe 2 and 4 door, 1300 super de luxe 4door and 1300 Estate). The Innocenti Regent was launched in three versions in December 1973 (1300 4 door, 1300 L 4 door and 1500 L 4 door). production was stopped in late 1975 as British Leyland decided to get free of Innocenti, due to financial problems in UK and in the Italian subsidiare. Regents were not well sold so, as Alejandro De Tomaso bought Innocenti in the spring of 1976 only the Bertone shaped new Innocenti Mini 90 and 120 came again into production. There were plenty of old classic shaped innocenti Minis and Regents to sell for the whole 1976 that were still waiting for an unlike buyer. By the way British Leyland launched in the fall its Allegros. |
