Probably a Bentley R-Type Countryman conversion. Most obvious source is Radford who built 37 of them, but can't find one which matches rear pillars - eg Link to "www.conceptcarz.com" , http://thegarageblog.com/garage/ultra-rare-bentley-spotted/ . Plate looks genuine UK - so personal import car - but can't trace a matching Bentley from VBH/YBH 200/209 nor with M/W suffixes. Any clear picture of plate? |

VBH 200 plate issued Feb - March 55, but nothing found on check sites. Have run out of other ideas to search with. Who else converted Bentleys apart from Radford? |

Bentley Mark VI conversion based on a Standard Saloon body, I'd say. |

http://www.coachbuild.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=1106 The subject picture is not a Radford Countryman, pictures of all three variants are shown above. -- Last edit: 2016-10-19 21:53:04 |

The subject car was originally a 1951 Bentley Mk VI 4 1/4 litre saloon. Chassis no B63LH was originally registered MKX 1 and supplied new to the company Pages Lane Property Ltd, body no. 4197 in shell grey. Conversion to estate car coachwork was carried out by an unknown company and the car, in the 2012 Bentley Drivers Club list, resided in Illinois, USA. In the unlikely case of anyone being interested in the process, the car's registration number appears in the 2012 BDC list, cross referenced to its chassis number. The history of the chassis appears in Bernard King's book "Bentley Mk VI". -- Last edit: 2016-10-19 22:06:14 |
