Those flats look almost like someone has just pressed the plunger on the demolition charges. |

It's typical 70's architecture. |

From ^^ one of the most staggering film sequences I've ever seen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRmrxYvm7iY&feature=related especially from about 3 minutes in. Wonderful music as well though very muffled on this version. Backstory at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1ARMX8xZW8&feature=related . |

Ah, Pruitt-Igoe, I wish I could've been there, to see the whole thing in the flesh. Same goes for another complex designed by the same architect behind it. I remember as a kid I wanted to move to a tower block when I grew up, as I had had enough of the quiet suburbs I had grown up in, and I needed a new perspective of my life. After studying what became of housing projects in High School, I decided that it was probably not a good idea to stay anywhere near those things. Still, brutalism, functionalism and modernism are among my favourite architectural styles. -- Last edit: 2011-12-05 21:32:12 |

Especially the first one reminds a lot the 70's Grundigs (or rather Grundig was similar to this one). |

I have a very similar looking Telefunken radio from the end of 70s in my bathroom, except it does not have the tape player. |

Ingo, thaht's why i wrote "for the first seconds, i thought..." I'm aware it's not a RFT Stern Recorder.... |
