The Congolese army seems to like old West German trucks, such as a Mercedes L-Series Link to "md1.libe.com" or MAN: https://secure.i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01017/Congo-army_1017662c.jpg |

I went and got the highest quality copy of the movie I could find to look for additional views and luckily there's a front view of this truck.![]() ![]() ![]() |

This appears to be a Mexican Dina, with the incredibly rare rebadge job for Western Star. The model was known as the Western Star Solar. These trucks were made for the U.S. and Canadian markets, but the plug got pulled rather quickly. These are super rare even in North America, much less the Congo. https://www.flickr.com/photos/12602543@N08/6228140577 https://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/32420-dina-trucks-sa/ Here is a Dina HTQ, the truck it's based on. Notice the different grille for the Western Star spec. /vehicle_1255475-Dina-HTQ.html |

Nice find ![]() Do you think it's the Mexican version over the Western Star version? I mean, rather than Mexico I'd see Canada having closer relations/humanitarian assistance in Congo. ![]() -- Last edit: 2019-08-31 18:41:44 |

No, this one has the grille of the Western Star version that was brought to U.S. and Canada. Western Star Solar-Series. This will be the first one for the site. |

And not even in the US. ![]() I think Solar without Series is enough. -- Last edit: 2019-08-31 21:44:22 |
