As far as I know, base of these race cars were Mercedes chassis, with Maybach or Mercedes aircraft engines with a capacity 18 to 27 liters. |

This car is a 1925 Rolls-Royce Phantom I 7.7 according to the Caister Castle Car Collection in Norfolk. This car started out as a regular Rolls-Royce Phantom I but was later used as a film prop. Retaining the Rolls-Royce chassis the car was re-bodied to look like a vintage racing car and appeared in the opening race sequence of the 1968 film 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. -- Last edit: 2018-10-04 17:06:32 |
