Not a Dodge. A 1971-77 Chevrolet Chevy Van G-30. |

Looks like the wide body conversion. I have seen such this ambulance conversion at the local Mt. Prospect Fire Department where I used to lived up in Illinois many years ago. |

I looked up at the Dammann book and came across the 1972 and 1973 version of Chevrolet Chevy Van G-30 with wide body conversion done by the Superior Coach. Could this be the similar example that I found in the book? ![]() |

The Superior "wide body conversion" was simply called the '61', had an additional 14 inches in width and a raised steel-supported fiberglass roof. It was available on Dodge Maxivan 300 and Chevrolet G-30 chassis and were introduced late in the 1972 model year. The same technique was used for Superior's Dodge and Chevrolet V-1700 and V-1800 Motor Homes. -- Last edit: 2019-07-12 12:20:26 |
