The Ford Focus is a German make? ![]() |

Yes, they are made there as well. As a matter of fact they have a new generation Focus out that is based on the Mazda 3 and Volvo S40 platform. It's supposed to me a much improved version of what we've got in the States. -- Last edit: 2007-02-22 00:13:02 |

Well, this is where it gets a little tricky. The original Ford Focus was one of Ford's attempts at a world car, and as such, was designed by Ford's European branch. But, the North American Focuses were built over here (probably originally at Ford's Hermosillo, Mexico plant, although if I'm not mistaken, they're American-made now). Also, the car in the picture is a, well, it's probably best to call it the first and a half generation Focus, but that redesign would've been handled by Ford in America (since Europe would've been busy with their own Focus). |

I'm not sure they sold the 1-generation 4-door sedan in Europe. Did they? |

Yes, but they were less common than hatchbacks. -- Last edit: 2007-02-22 00:34:55 |
