 This confirms nicely, that for the first years they had to be called Saipa-Renault. Later badges were different. On the other hand, the car can be a bit later than 1977 due to black bumpers...

 @Weasel1984: I spotted quite a few Saipa Renault 5s with Renault badges just like this in Jafar Panahi's Ayneh (The Mirror). There's also at least one FSO 125p. :)

Both Ayneh and his Dayareh (The Circle) are excellent films for Tehran street life and car spotting, but be warned that there are probably over a hundred Paykans in each film. :)

Thanks a lot for the tip! I will try to get (or at least see) these films for sure.
Paykans do not scare me, I listed more than half of all of these we have at the site
