GSA, not a CX. And therefore the listing of this being a hatchback is correct (a CX and a GS would have been a sedan...). |

BTW. Is this in GDR? Seems to be a repeater just in front of the front wheel arch. By the presence of the right rear view mirror I guess it is one of the 1982 Pallas versions, made for DDR. |

This is a Bulgarian movie. This GSA might be made for DDR. I mean, the car - it must have been imported from DDR. There wasn't a Citroen factory here. So it can be made for DDR or not. I do not see any other option. -- Last edit: 2012-01-28 21:39:17 |

Very unlikely with all kind of cars. The restrictions about the import and export of cars, also about the possession of Western money (about the travelling possibilities of the people, too) were much stricter than in the other COMECON-countries. Plus the fact, that due the big defiency of all kind of vehicles in the DDR -especially Western made ones- over there the prices for used cars were ridoculous high. A used Trabant for 20.000 DDR-Mark (offical rate to the D-Mark 1:1, the illegal between 1:3 and 1:11, by an average monthly income of 1000 DDR-Mark), a VW T3 Transporter for 100.000 DDR-Mark. A Citroen GSA has cost around 80.000 DDR-Mark IIRC. |

Ingo, by the way car prices for cars, which are made in non-communism countries (Mercedes, Citroen, Opel for example) were very high in Bulgaria too. In the 80s a Lada 2101 in Bulgaria used to cost 6000 or 7000 BGN (leva) (have no idea how whats was the value DM:BGN in the 80s). And a Mercedes W124... for example a 300D used to cost around 150 000 BGN, but communists were buying it for let's say 20 000 BGN (now a 300D here costs around 1000-2000 EUR / 2000-4000 BGN). Plus, if you weren't a communist, you couldn't buy a car different from a Lada, Moskvich (AZLK), Trabant, Wartburg, ZAZ, Skoda (1000MB/100/105/120 you know the ones with rear engine) and I think Fiat 126 made in Poland - these were the cars available for the public before November 1989 here... not that much people could afford all these cars from the west after that... so most of the cars 'till 2001 were those soviet cars So this car could be imported after 1990, or why not before that - like I said, communists had the privilege to buy a GSA for example. It is not a gdr gsa because it is not a pallas. Cimos is also unlikely since this has the strping on the side, which the cimos ga never had. My best guess western import. Type is most likely x1 |
