Not an XJR, I thought about Sovereign but now lean towards a Daimler of some description. |

That's what I think, due to the chrome door handles. |

LWB so would match Daimler. Choice (both from Jan 98) is: 4.0 V8 (with unspecified design 7x16 alloys) or 4.0 Super V8 (7.5x17 Solar alloys) - both had full window chrome. LWB Jag seems limited to 4.0 SE LWB (16" celtic cast alloys) - no mention of window chrome. |

The alloys are the same design as the XJR so probably not original to this car. |

98+ XJR described as having 8x18 Penta alloys. So you might as well go for 98+ Daimler 4.0 V8 as safest option? |

As best I can tell lack of a chrome side strip means V8. Super V8 has one but the ordinary V8 does not. Pic for reference: ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-01-31 21:06:09 |

But on the X308 version I think the chrome strip went along the side trim on the lower part of the doors instead of higher up and going along the length of the car like with previous Daimlers. Eg: http://www.cannell.co.uk/Daimler%20Super%20V8%20R.htm (Google images will show other examples) I think the Super V8 was the supercharged version (both had the same 4.0 V8 engine). By default I'd just list as V8 unless certain. -- Last edit: 2012-01-31 21:23:24 |
