1977-84 Mercedes-Benz W123 series wagon (TE or TD) with what looks like Swiss number plates? |

Yes, I did not notice that. But this Mercedes has US headlights. As in some US states the front plates is optional, sometimes people keep the plate from their previous country. Maybe this is the car of a Swiss citizen that had to go in USA. -- Last edit: 2006-08-14 10:49:45 |

For what it's worth, this is a Swiss rear plate. Front plates are much smaller. Xchange was filmed in Montreal, and front plates aren't needed in Quebec. Perhaps the producers wanted to put front plates on the cars to make Montreal look a bit more like New York, and for background cars they took whatever plates the prop rental companies happened to have. -- Last edit: 2006-08-14 15:17:08 |

No 1977 model year for TE S123 US specs., was sold since 1979 model year, if I remember well. |

Actually, I would say it's a saloon since it doesn't have the chrome ( two-bar ) roof rack. With this spec., 1977+ and I don't think it's possible to identify the version. |
