Euro-spec 1200 convertible with 12/50 grille (UK 1200 convertible had normal grille). Thumb likely to be same. |

Yes, at Behobie border , over the Bidassoa river. The background landscape shows France side. Another view on the french/spain border seen in: /movie.php?id=60481 |

Never heard that... But seems you're right... for US cars: http://www.triumph-brochure-page.de/gfx/brochure_opt/herald/Herald_20.jpg And the pic is really to blurry to see anything. |

This 12/50 grille on EU convertibles is one of the things I've picked up from our collection - eg /vehicle_18283-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1967.html , /vehicle_147620-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1964.html , /vehicle_209631-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1964.html , /vehicle_388246-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1961.html , /vehicle_77107-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1961.html . I don't know when it started - /vehicle_110122-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1961.html and /vehicle_114745-Triumph-Herald-1200-Convertible-1961.html suggest that some (early?) EU convertibles had ordinary grilles. -- Last edit: 2012-02-25 14:48:40 |

Tiré de ce site: http://www.vtr.org/ "The U.S. Market .../... the Herald 1200 name was replaced in the U.S. during the 1964 model year by "Sports 1200"; the latter featured the home market 12/50's grille and a 48 hp. version of the 1147cc engine. .../... " But nothing about continental 1200 convertibles.. That's strange, 'cause the pics you show are enough clear... |

As the 12/50 was launched March 63, I'd guess that is the earliest date the grille would have been available, and is close enough to 64my US launch of Sports 1200. Perhaps Triumph just fitted it to all LHD convertibles from mid-63? |
