Please change name to: FAMO Typ F3 "Sd.Kfz.9/1" should be put as extra info. This is with 18 tons the biggest German artillery tractor, and it was mostly used to tow damaged tanks in order to get them repaired. The crane was built by the Bilstein company, based in Ennepetal, North-Rhine Westphalia. Since 1992 they do not produce cranes anymore, but motorsport and/or tuning enthusiasts may know the Bilstein's shock absorbers. FAMO (English: Vehicle & Engine Works) was a company based at Bolkenhainer Straße, Breslau, Silesia (now Wrocław, Poland), which was liquidated in 1945. The remainings of the production facility were moved to East Germany. The new company produced tractors in the GDR until 1990. |
