Cool film, cool car, cool setting. Filmed in nineties using cars from eighties. This one is referred to by it's pregnant driver as "the prowler" when it won't start due to a dead battery. It's a 1986 LTD. |

Wasn't it the LTD Crown Victoria by '86 (particularily given that the LTD name was on the smaller Fox platform car by them)? |

Both cars used the LTD name, although the bigger one also had the name "Crown-Victoria" added to differentiate between the two lines. Crown-Victoria has outlived the LTD. |

The licence plate just says "POLICE". -- Last edit: 2014-05-01 02:06:50 (karoomay) |

Isn't the hood ornament important to guessing the year because not all years have the hood ornament. |

yeah it is 1987 is the only year sedans had hood ornaments so this has to be an '87 and judging by the amount of chrome this is not a police package -- Last edit: 2009-10-13 21:27:24 |

Let's correct that right now. All Crown Victorias from model year 1980 through 1987 used the hood ornament pictured. The photographed car is pre-'86 since no sign of a center-mounted brake light in the rear window. It should be a 1985 as the '83's and '84's had information tags on the front fenders behind the wheels although they may have been removed to apply the police paint. I would call this an '83-'85 for the record. |

It's a 1986-1987 model as it clearly does have a third brake light. Look at G-MANN's thumbnails. |

Oops! Failed to check out the thumbnails. Drat! You are correct, '86-'87. |

Thanks for clearing up the hood ornament issue, though. I never really believed that it was exclusive for 1987 models. |

Another (minor) anachronism in this movie...Hardee's didn't introduce the Frisco breakfast sandwich until 1992. ..... Yes, I'm being pedantic. |

From then on, an orange wordmark on a brown background was used up until the late 80s. After that, it was changed to 3D orange and black lettering on a blue background. https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/Hardee%27s |
