 Looks very Ford to me, possibly something like 1934 Model C or CX 10hp (I'm reading the title from a book).

 This car is a 1935 to 1937 Model CX Ten, as shown by the horizontal chrome strips on the grille. The model C was introduced in September 1934, and replaced by the CX which was introduced in October 1935. The CX was discontinued in March 1937 in favour of the 7W Ten.
