Can't find a picture with such rounded side windows, but front looks good against eg Link to "www.jensencars.org" . Seems only 18 or 19 made, code [PW] for Post-War. |

It wasn't exactly a mass production effort at 229 examples built, neither was the ex-Talbot works at Barlby Rd Kensington in the forefront of motor car factories, so lack of knowledge of the car is no great sin! What it does prove is that even pre-war the Rootes Group were masters of badge engineering, in this case using Humber Super Snipe parts including the 4086 cc flat head engine that was also used in Commer trucks. The war killed off both this and the smaller three litre version, otherwise more may have been sold. The Rootes parts-bin engineering was a bit agricultural after the niceties of the Roesch Talbots, but the cars were cheaper to make and pretty rugged. -- Last edit: 2012-03-21 17:02:29 |
