Strange. I though the first Falcon convertible appeared for 1963! Is this a 2 door sedan whose roof has been removed ? |

Seems so. |

It is a 1962 Ford Falcon Hardtop with the roof cut off. Tell tail sign is the windshield trim (lack of chrome). |

Guys, I thought the same thing. "I thought the first convertible Falcon was in '63?" So it would appear this is a 62 with the roof cut off. BUT.....could it be a 63 with a 62 grille mounted on it? I say this because the tail lights are NOT 62 tail lights. In 62, the tail lights had black strips running horizontal from the outside into the lights. In 63, they looked like these lights, with the chrome strips spiraling around the tail light. Here is a 1962 rear end: Here is a 1963 rear end: The likelihood that someone cut the roof of a 62 AND took off the tail lights and put 63 tail lights on instead is not only unlikely, but odd to say the least. It's much more plausible the original 63 grille got busted out somehow, and they went to a junkyard and found a grille that fit; that grille happened to be a 62 grille. Cheers! -- Last edit: 2013-11-05 04:28:59 |
