Eeeh andrepa, only for the T2 there's the systematics T2a, T2b and T2c in use, not for the T1. To your question: August 1955, I think ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_T1 siehe unter "Weitere Entwicklung") |

So, this modification was made for the 1956 model year |

@ingo, to my apologies: as a modeler beeing influenced by BREKINA make of T1 in scale 1:87 they distinguish their model with overhang by ading letter b with the overhang there where other changes ventilation etc. but not the big rear window interchangeable with T2? -- Last edit: 2012-04-30 01:46:41 |

The big tailgate came for MY 1964, also (for extra charge) the sliding side doors, but I'm not sure, if VW continued with the identical parts at the T2. This is indeed a Volkswagen-typical problem: often you have identical looking parts, but in fact they were slightly changed for annother model year or annother car. Sometime you recognize that first, when you try to mount them and fail with that. Fortunately the very most original VW-parts are signed with their part-number. |
