After the accident, the wreckage was bought by car customizer George Barris for parts and after buying it, the "Curse of the Little Bastard" started to create havoc: George Barris - The wreckage fell off the trailer and landed and broke both legs of a mechanic who was unloading the wreckage with Barris at his shop after Dean's accident. Troy McHenry - Doctor and part-time racer, installed an engine identical to the engine used in Dean's Porsche for his Lotus racer, died when his car had spun into a tree during a race at Pomona, California on the afternoon of the 21st October 1956. William Eschrid - Doctor and part-time racer, bought the drivetrain for his racer, injured when his racer flipped over in the same race that day.
