The style of the bonnet/hood side trims says it is 1938 so is not a 120 but an Eight. Looks to be a long wheelbase 7 passenger model 1602 maybe? Headlights are British maybe? -- Last edit: 2012-06-11 09:40:45 |

Having another look, it is hard to tell whether this is a long wheelbase car or not. Comparing it with this one which I identified as a 1602 - /vehicle_194640-Packard-Eight-1602-1938.html - I am now not so sure as the one in the link has different hood side trim. Commander, are you referring to the the one in the link? I thought all Packards retained a V windshield until at least 1940. I notice it has different hood trim to this car so they are different series models. Which is which? The car on this page is not a One Twenty - the name was not used in 1938. I was referring to the bright trim strip which continues onto the roof. In '39, it was only on the windshield divider itself. So what is the verdict? One source says that the 120 name was not used in 1938-39 and they were simply called Eights. Is that not correct? The car in the link has different hood trim so maybe that is a Super Eight? Or maybe the picture has just distorted it and it really is an Eight/120?
