Now this one is several years too new for the 1978/1979 setting. |

Yes, because there are very few old police cars left in Norway. Nearly all of them were either scrapped or converted into private use. The only authentic police car that I can think of to fit into this movie is this one: /vehicle_506000-Volvo-244-1976.html Also, they couldn't find a good plate to put on the car, it's from 1981. |

Well, since older police vehicles are nearly extinct, maybe the could dress or paint an older Volvo as a police car. |

They take what they can get. Chances are, most watchers wouldn't view this as an anachronism ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-06-26 21:20:12 |

That's true, most viewers aren't as geeky as us here on IMCDB and don't really notice car details like this. It kind of reminds me what they did in No Country for Old Men: /vehicle_117256-Chevrolet-Caprice-1990.html when they probably thought something like you said "Uh... boxy 70ish-80ish Caprice... seems legit!" even though it was a 1990 model used in movie that was supposed to take place in 1980. |

Weren't the fog lamps added 1985? 1984 would have had 5w bulbs in upper red lamps. Lights are on, upper rear lamps are not lit. With facelift of 1986, this would be a 1985 only. -- Last edit: 2012-06-26 21:34:27 |

I take that you are really familiar with light bulbs ![]() |

@rjluna: The first wrap-arounds had parking lights in upper and brake lamps in lower red parts of the lamp. With the introduction of rear fog lamps the break lamps were moved to the lower unit, freeing up the upper to use as fog lamps. The lower got a 21/5w parking and brake lamp bulb. |
