Seems like another Sapphire 346 (but 2nd opinions welcome). Late 54 plate. |

The Star was not introduced until 1959, and this is not a 234 or a 236 which were built on a different body, so, therefore, your assessment is correct. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Dj1MxMW0QQ We here at Imcdb are quite priviledged, as we can watch the most unusual and exclusive cars, many of which at the time would have been almost unobtainable for most people. I remember my uncle telling about some relatives coming home when he grew up having the most exclusive car imaginable. Today that would have been a Ferrari, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce or a Bugatti. Back then it was a Fiat 1500 Convertible http://www.autoviva.com/fiat_1500_cabriolet/photo-version/36695 . I'd change all my Fords for an Armstrong Siddeley... -- Last edit: 2012-07-05 12:49:14 |

"I'd change all my Fords for an Armstrong Siddeley..." At the time, among the cars in my family were: - 1951 Whitley (GBO 838) then 1953 Sapphire 346 (NYO 817) then the 1953 Bentley which I still have. I have fond memories of the Siddeleys, and of the Uncle who owned them, and still have the handbook for the Sapphire. My Dad at the same time had a Citroen Super Modern 12 (BEA 192) (and I have the handbook), followed in 1955 by a Morris Cowley (PUK 394), bought new, and I have the workshop manual. -- Last edit: 2012-07-05 13:38:00 |
