So this bus was made in GB? |
◊ 2012-07-14 15:36 |
The Camper-conversion yes. |

It's confusing if it says made in GB. Some one might think the bus was made in GB. |

But why Campers shall be listed in a different way than Hearses and Ambulances? |

There's no clear answer for that, as there were several manufacturers. Were Westfalia-made VW Camper sold in the UK, too, or just the local brands? In the old Britsh car magazines of my collection, I've only found test reports and advertises of UK-brands ![]() In Germany Westfalia was the biggest company for that, but not the only one. There were more than a dozen coachbuilders, just for the VW Typ2. Plus the uncountabvle many self-made conversions. At Westfalia you could buy all Camper-interior-parts extra, too. Roof, windows, furniture, everything was available as single parts for selfmaking. For tax-reasons in Germany a Camper ("Wohnmobil", "Reisemobil") is more attractive than a Van. You can switch the registration, when a bed and a cooker are fixed. |
