I think this is a Lola T70, driven by John Surtees in 1965,who won the Can-Am series that year. The circuit is probably Riverside. |

1966 Mk2, chassis SL71/17, still survives - http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/4151/Lola-T70-Mk2-Spyder-Chevrolet.html . Pictures as #7 - http://stevemckelvie.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/sports-car-racing-in-the-mid-1960s/ , http://www.historic-motor-racing-news.eu/2010/12/can-am-cars/can_am_cars/ , http://www.tamsoldracecarsite.net/DSC0009JohnSurteesLolaT707.html and has been modelled in 1-43 by Best Link to "www.racingmodels.com" and Spark Link to "racecars.minimodelshop.co.uk" . Interesting to see the Team Surtees arrow paintwork design used on his later F1 cars goes back to 1966. |
