1978 GMC K-15 Wideside Flaunting its Sierra Classic equipment package, adorned with aluminium and stainless-steel exterior beauty trim shimmering in the sunlight. Tail lamps fully illuminated through shatter-resistant wraparound Lexan lenses. The brake system consisted of four-wheel hydraulic Hydra-Boost power assisted front self-adjusting disc brakes and rear finned drum brakes. Despite not having an anti-lock braking system (ABS), the braking system was well sorted, computer-matched to the vehicle’s GVRW, provided excellent brake fade resistance, and was never quick to lock-up like the braking systems found on period rival pickups. Although the rear brakes could still lock-up under emergency or panic braking. |
