Something based on Anadol (originally designed by Reliant as a saloon on UK Ford Cortina Mk2 bits, but developed locally for a long time afterwards). |

Indeed it is the Anadol P2 500/600. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AnadolPickup.JPG -- Last edit: 2012-07-28 03:38:07 |

Still looks Ford-based - Capri Mk1 front lights. Pick-up was locally developed, made 1971-91 according to Wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anadol . A very interesting page - apparently Anadol tried to build a Wankel. To note we've got a few of these as Otosan as well - /vehicles.php?make=Otosan&model= . -- Last edit: 2012-07-28 05:23:40 |

Does not have the diesel bonnet bulge for 600D - see wiki link above - so is 500. Am still unclear how we should separate Anadol and Otosan for this one and all the others - should everything become Otosan Anadol? |

This was already discussed - there were two different brands badges to me: /vehicle_301258-Anadol-A2-1970.html And pickup was described just as Otosan, see the link I posted previously. Indeed, it doesn't have bulge, the fact that typical for the 500 hood crease isn't well visible, misled me. -- Last edit: 2012-07-28 14:37:37 |

So is it as simple as cars are just Anadol, and pickup just Otosan? |

It looks this way judging by the advertising documentation. Edit: this interesting website confirms, that perosnal cars were called Anadol (of course sometiems there was also Otosan name at the advert, as name of the manufacturer). What is interesting, in the "P2" chapter, the site mentions 3 names of the pickups: - Anadol pick-up - Otosan 500 - Otosan 600 D And there is pic of one pick-up with "Anadol" written at the dash. But none of the official, period pics don't show such car - both pre and post-facelifted are described again as Otosan only. Possible that they were called by people "anadol pick-up" and some (very early?) cars had such badge inside, but officially were still called Otosan. Such things happend sometimes. Anyway in this form it was made since 1976. -- Last edit: 2012-07-28 15:50:15 |
