This Model T appeared in many guises in the film, see /images/053/042.jpg . Here as a vehicle for Jackson Bennett (Arthur Kennedy) modelling Lowell Thomas. The scheme was for the loosened bonnet (hood) to fly off as an explosive charge fitted under the bonnet fired. The model T has an under bonnet scuttle mounted PETROL tank and I was driving in full Arab make-up. Not a good scenario. The first take was ruined by too large a charge exploding, Jackson Bennett disappearing from view and myself being enveloped in a dense cloud of smoke totally blocking my view. I braked gently to a halt mindful of my passenger’s precarious perch…”Take two…first positions, please” came the cry |

Model T. For a laugh see this vehicle in the company of other Ford vehicles on the LofA set. Where the Mk One Consul/Zephyr came from I know not. Cheers.![]() -- Last edit: 2007-08-18 20:49:10 |
