I actually like ITC / Lew Grade productions, but honestly, not a fan of the "wooden" Steve Forrest, and much, much less of Gene Barry, who looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. A red second gen Camaro is SO un-him....trying to be hip, but squarer than Trafalgar in London. I never think of one of these cars having a 90-year-old, short, burly man as the original contempory owner. I'd watch this show because Catherine Schell is a TOTAL knockout, game over. Too bad Stuart Damon was apparently run off the show by Barry because he might have been worth watching. But I'm sure that his star would have risen somewhat and then they could have written the old guy out....maybe crashing his car over a cliff. Being ITC, it would be a white Jaguar Mark I or a red Renault. ("No, Gene, don't get into that white Jag!!! No, please Gene!!! Your life is in danger!!") "The Protectors" was one good ITC show with an American star. I bought the DVDs and watched every episode and enjoyed it. Robert Vaughn allegedly was not happy working with Gerry Anderson, but I don't think it is apparent. But The Protectors is another entry!!! And lots of cool cars to boot!!!! |
