They were built in Australia using Mazda 323 platform which was also basis for Ford Laser in Australia (Mercury Tracer?/Ford Escort in USA). In Australia they were released in October 1989 and ran until 1994. They were a successful export for Ford Australia, they were sent to many countries including their biggest market the USA where they were sold as Mercury Capri's |
