1959 morris LD2A It seems that an Austin version was available but it had the Autin wave like horizontal grill bars http://www.flickr.com/photos/allenthepostman/6073071865/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/27204054@N07/3166159713/ -- Last edit: 2012-11-05 07:17:43 |

@samyuk: I think this is the Austin LD version; it's just that the 'frilly grille' doesn't show up at this distance. The Morris version you provide has a differently-shaped grille (from a Morris 1100). |

I googled Morris LD ambulance images and the results consisted of both Austin and Morris, each with all of the different variations in grille shapes. I think that in those days BMC labelled their commercial vehicles between the Austin and Morris brands quite liberally, for instance, the J4 in the foreground could just as easily be an Austin or a Morris. In any event I am quite happy that I found a close enough answer, that this being a BMC product. When I started I was looking amongst Bristol, Dennis, Seddon and Shelvoke & Drewry. I was only sure that this was not a Daimler nor a Bedford. -- Last edit: 2012-11-06 06:45:26 |
