I'm sorry to disagree, but this is not any product of Nuffield's Ward End factory, or any other part of that organisation. It's a 1939/40, or 45 to 47 Phase 1 Hillman Minx, the alligator bonnet, together with the fact that the Wolseley would have had both sets of doors hinged from the rear, and a radiator immediately behind the chrome plated shell point to this. The Wolseley overhead valve engine was a tall, longstroke unit which almost filled the height of the bonnet space, compared with the Hillman's rather puny sidevalve ten hp engine.
